Currently REMUS is used in ENCS476: Dynamics of Wildlife and Rangeland Systems at the University of Alberta, Canada.

REMUS was developed by Piotr Weclaw at the University of Alberta in the Department of Renewable Resources (supervisor: Dr Robert Hudson), as a Master of Science thesis project.

REMUS was developed to integrate the existing knowledge on woodland caribou into a predictive tool describing the long-term caribou population dynamics in response to a variety of cumulative effects.
